Automatic Shifter Button
I have quite a problem on cold mornings in getting my gearshift button to press down (automatic), once the car gets warmed up, it presses perfectly.

Re: Automatic Shifter Button
damn man, its just too damn cold where u live, i think your car wants to be in florida lol. i havent had a car do that before and i use to live in grandforks north dakota. maybe take your shifter off and check it out, but it could be just the car sitting in the cold, parts are sticking....its a long shot but maybe

Re: Automatic Shifter Button
Lube it up, the lube GM put on it is just worn off. About every 6 months i spray some bike chain lube in mine. It sprays on wet and has a hose to aim with, but its considered a dry formula. when it sets up its pretty good about staying awhile.

Okay, will try that...but it only does it when it is cold...between 30-40 here , thats not cold! In the afternoons, it works fine...

How cold does it get in the middle of the night? Might still be sticking from the cold nights. I would agree with the clowns above. Try to lube it up...

Re: Automatic Shifter Button
Yeah when you lube it be sure to aim with the hose and spray it real nice and wet...Then work it up and down till it loosens up a bit> You will feel it working almost immediatly. Shouldnt take but a couple minutes.

Actually yeah.. My shifter has a hand operated bar that goes up and down in the front, and it gets stuck all the time and doesnt want to go into drive. I spray a little lube on it and its good to go. I have a few pictures of my shifter im sure your familiar with it

Re: Automatic Shifter Button
Im serious. I know it sounds bad, but look at my shifter.
When i pull on the bar sometimes it sticks. Its done it to me several times. Once you pull up on it and get it into reverse, the bar will not drop down and let it into neutral. After that you have to pull up on the bar again to pull it back into drive, 2nd or 1st...
I swear some people and the their gutter minds
I think the thread went wrong, as soon as the word lube was used. That banter thread is messin with your heads
