Wrecked Engines

Has anyone had any experience with those engines that yards pull out of 2000 and up Camaros and GTO's? Are they actually good engines? And the trans? or do they make for problematic engines since they are from wrecks?

I see more tranmission problems on wrecks than engines.
Long distance towing and the jar from a wreck takes a toll on transmissions.
On The engine you need to consider the mileage and the actual care the person gave it before wrecking.
And consider high performance cars usually get drove harder.
A good salvage yard usually will check out the engine before pulling it.
But they have no way to test the transmission on a wreck.
