Ram air lid

Guys what the hell is the purpose of the slp lid (or any brands) for the ram air. It seems to me the lid would restrict air flow . But then again i see it for sale and people buying it so please enlighten me

Re: Ram air lid

I thnk the theory is that the lid is supposed to stop hot air from the engine from coming into the intake wich kills performance. Also if I'm not mistakened it has a smoother opening past the filter for less turbulant air flow.

I believe the Whisper and SLP airlids are slightly bigger for more air flow. And have a straight tube from the lid to the t/b.

Personally I just designed one up for mine, I sanded and smoothed my lid and made the lid more free flowing to the t/b. Also, created a nice tube to replace that crappy Baffle (Intake Muffler).

Saved me 100$$$
