95 tahoe heater

when I turn on the heater is smells like dust. is there a filter I can clean to get the dust smell out? I do not get this smell when I have cold air blowing.

There is not a cabin air filter on the 95 Tahoe, I would bet money that the blower motor box has had water & mud in it (not a lot) and is coming off. Pull the blower motor and clean out the box, if it is clean trace the inlet tube to the front of the intake, generally under the windshield wiper grill and see if it needs cleaned.
