1995 Cadillac Sedan DeVille Concourse

I just purchased this car, clean 115,000 miles.
I am showing two panel messages:

Very Low Refrigerant / A/C Compressor Off
Service Ride Control

Additionally, the Service Engine Light is constantly on.

do I need to get Refrigerant immediately - it is November now.

Will it pass inspection with the Service Engine Light on?

You may be low on refrigerant or the connections at the sensors that are on the A/C lines may be dirty and need cleaning. You won't hurt anything with it being low as the compressor is disabled and won't turn on if you try.

The ride control message can be due to a number of things. Usually it is due to a bad sensor in one of the front struts.

You will likely fail inspection due to the SEL being on. Most places will not even inspect with the light present. On your car you may be able to access the fault codes by turning the key to the "ON" position and simultaneously holding down "OFF" and "WARMER" on the climate control. If you can pull the codes, post them back here and we'll take a shot at deciphering them.
