Fuse location

Hey there guys and gals. Im new to this part of the forum, but I hope I can get a little help! I have an 85 deisel Golf. I recently had the lower dash panel/console out to replace a faulty headlight switch. I was pretty stoked, because now I don't have to highbeam to see! anywyas, after that, i tried installing a radio from a Toyota. I didnt have any luck, but now my dash and interior lights don't work. I think I may have crossed some wires while trying to install the radio, and blown a fuse. Im wondering if someone knows the location of the fuse on the panel that needs replacing? as a side note, would it be possible to install an old toyota tape deck in the Volks? What wires need to connect where? Thanks in advance for any and all help,
-Colin

Re: Fuse location

The fuses are in a black box beneath the front wheel if I am not mistaking the model... About the tape deck the best thing to do is see from its instructions (if you can get them) where each wire should go in the original construction and find where you have the same (in parameters) ins and outs and connect them. If you don't know the purpose of each wire from the deck there is a risk to burn something - when I had this problem I burnt a pretty good cd player =)
