Need to replace front pass. seatbelt latch

Is there any good way to do this? Where can I find the part and how does it attach? Is this a DIY project?

Long stupid story, but after gummy worms melted into the latch in August, it hasn't worked. :banghead:

We used Goo-Gone and then WD-40 to dissolve the candy and a paperclip to try to remove it all, but my son tried to force the belt part into the latch and I think he damaged the springs (or whatever) inside.

Thanks for any help/suggestions you can offer!

You can't buy the latch part separately if that's what you were referring to - the belt and the latch are essentially one part.
A '95 JGC? If it's just the short part that bolts to the floor it shouldn't be a problem labor wise. Should be easy enough to find at a wrecking yard.

Can you get your hands on a steam cleaner?

Dunno.... I think it's cleaned out pretty well by now but I'm pretty sure that its innards are damaged.

I've been so busy (and have so few passengers!) that this hasn't been a major issue, but it is something that I need to fix or have fixed. I might check with the local body shop and see what they can come up with since they're hooked in to various parts places (and salvage yards) around the area.
