Well, I think I did myself in. I purchased a multifunction switch (i think thats what its called) it has both the turn signal and wiper switch. I looked easy enough to install, well I WAS WRONG! I should have known better not being that mechanically skilled. Anyways, I took the old one out (not looking how it should go back in) and I plugged in all the plugs correctly, well after I installed it my horn was beeping like crazy, I couldnt control it! I disconnected the battery and did a little research on the problem. I guess there is a metal pin that needed to be depressed when you put it back in (still confusing on how it goes back in). Anyways, I did not do this. Bottom line I screwed up and the circular metal piece that appears to be part of the steering wheel is bent from when i turned the wheen or when it was installed. I hope to god there is an easy fix for this rather than replacing the steering column. If not, im going to have to bite the bullet and pay to have it replaced. The circular metal piece that is bent appears to be part of the steering whell thats why im thinking this is BAD NEWS. Help me please.

Ok I checked your profile and found out what year your car was. Thats if youre talking about the 2000 GA.

You wont need to replace the steering column.
You will need to disassemble it down to where that part is(remove steering wheel).

Sounds like you moved teh clockspriing when you replaced the steering wheel and you might hav cut or pinched a wire . Also the clockspring arrows needed to be aligned so this doesnt happen.
Other then that you'll just need to take it apart and find the troubles, thiers alot of stuff in that little area.
Be carefull messing with that airbar, static electricity will set one off

I should have mentioned the year im sorry....this is actually on my wifes car 2001 GA. Im not sure if I messed up the clock spring or wiring, all I know is the circular metal piece that rides on the multifunction switch metal pin that controls when the blinker goes on and off appears to be bent pretty bad because i didnt depress the pin when installing the multifunction switch. Im not sure what this circular metal piece is called, im sorry. It appears to be one piece with the steering wheel. Is there any way this piece can be replaced or repaired?

Also, is it possible to take off the steering wheel without messing up the airbag? If possible could I have instructions on removing the steering wheel.....or should I even attempt this?

if its under the steering wheel then its most likly the clockspring that bent/broke. If you take it apart you might be able to straighten it, but if not I'm sure the part is replacable from a stealership.

If you are going to do this, disconnect the battery and pull the ABS fuse in the driverside fuse box(think its "G" ).
You will need a puller a small jaw type or you can rent a steering wheel puller. These are differnt then older pullers. #30 torx screws hold air bag to the steering wheel, screwed in from behind.

If thier is no marks on the steering wheel and shaft showing thier allignment, mark them so the wheel goes back on the same/right way.
When you remove the wheel and install it make sure the clockspring is centered so you dont pinch or break wires to the horn.
Just take your time and remember not to slide that air bag around on the seats or anything. Most importantly keep it away from anyones face!
