try www.epinions.com for reviews from owners. that should give you some idea of the best years.

Re: purchase research.

About any thing above 99' is a good car(s).

I like GA's myself But GP are nice too.
Both in 4 doors, the GA's came with a 5 spd but only in the 4cyl models which arent the best in my opiniom (IMO).

You can get GTP which has a supercharger

Thiers plenty of places to check out cars.
http://www.kbb.com/ for buying and selling prices in your area.
http://www.partsamerica.com/ReliabilityRatings.aspx this has reliability listings

Good Hunting!

Who'd ever thought the "G" in GM would stand for Government Motors.

The easy way too look at difference between the two is the Grand Prix, are a little higher end More options, more luxury, more power. It's also larger then the Grand Am. You'll end up paying more for the Grand Prix versus the Grand Am. The Grand Am GT's come well equipped with options comparable to the grand Prix gt's. I believe you can do a side by comparison on Edmunds between the two models, it'll give you a better understanding of the differences.
