I got a 97 lumina ls with 205/70/R15 Stock Size.

Essentially, i'm trying to get a wider tire for appearance purposes - keeping the 15 inch wheels

Has anyone has success with wider tires? Sizes would be great so I can test how much the speedo will be off [http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html]

My '97 LS came with 225-60-16's which would probably stand about the same height as your 205-70's but are definitely wider.

I'm sure you could get away with 225 60 or 55 15's or somewhere thereabouts, so you could have the extra width without changing diameter enough to make a huge speedo error....

I just used that calculator, and a 245/60-15 (a legit size) would give you only a 1% error...

Better get a wider wheel on there with those tires for proper tread contact patch.

On the stock 15 inch wheels, how far do you think i can push the width? 225/60/15?

i have 235/55/16's on my 16 inch rims, and they dont rub anything.
