Welcome to AF. Is the fluid burnt, does it try to move at all. This not a solenoid issue, it's coming out for major repairs.

No , fluid is fine. Doesn't do diddly in any forward gears. I have a '90 parts car with 63,000 miles I could do a complete swap. The harness that is on the shift indicater switch is different though, so I would also have to change the harness and moduele. It'll be easier in the long run. but I think solenoid B isn't engageing. I'm not getting any error codes so WTF. I think it's electical. this was an all of a sudden thing with no warning. were can I apply voltage to varify?

You can disconnect the trans electrical connector and measure solenoid coil resistance. You can also try to drive it with no electrical input, which should default to a full hydraulic mode, with full line pressure. That might reveal whether the forward sprag is toast.

Thanks I tried that with same result. The transaxle in parts car looks the same with the only difference being the shift posiion switch. If I could figure out how the quick disconects on the fuel lines release I can get the motor and trans out and complete the swap. I should be able to swap switch on shift imput without haveing to change out the entire harness.

I have a 90 lumy, I've put two trannys in mine, the electronic shift module is removable from the tranny and vice versa. you do not have to replace the harness just the tranny..

What shift module in the trans? There is a solenoid pack.
