22's on a 2wd

I'm new on this forum,,, So hello and thank you. "My questions are my curiousity". Can I fit 22's on my 2wd? I have an 99 sonoma/s10. I,ve seen many trucks in mags with fenders cut and wheel wells sawed open but I want my truck to remain a truck no airbags, but maybe a slight drop in store too. Do those chips/plugins for power really work... about to spend $300+ and want to know if they are woth it? Thanks so much

Re: 22's on a 2wd

welcome to af. im not sure if 22's will fit without modifications. i would think they will hit as you turn. If you are even considering this size wheel, you need to upgrade the brakes as you will increase your rolling mass by a great deal. That size wheel will also wear out suspension components alot faster and your performance will likely suffer. As for the programer, the performance tune alone is not worth the $300 but you will need one to correct your speedo and odometer.

Re: 22's on a 2wd

18s w\low profile tires and a 2" drop will work, they will still hit on sharp parking turns and send the pedal to the floor if your foot is not all ready on the brake. 22s are not going to happen w\o some mods.
