2001 GA GT1 electrical problem?

I seem to be having a random problem starting the car.

It's been running fine and then the other day I got in the car and tried to start it and it just gave me a little wimper and would not start. The stereo and lights still turned on but I figured I would give it a jump anyway, after attempting to jump it still had the same results.

So I grabbed a battery out of my mom's 1988 toyota and put it in my car and the car started fine. So I went out and bought a new battery assuming my battery was bad and everything was fine for 2 or 3 days and then the same thing happened again. Switching out the battery everytime seems to fix it but obviously this is not an ideal situation...

I do have an aftermarket stereo system with amp and am wondering if maybe this is causing the problem? I really know nothing about cars any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like an alternator problem. One way to tell...put another battery in the car, then remove your negative battery cable. (while the car is running)
If the car dies...your alternator is prolly shot.
On the other hand....your stereo could be causing a problem. Sometimes it takes quite a bit of power from the alternator to run those suckers.

Welp my step dad took the alternator to get tested and he said they told him it was fine. I have disconnected the radio from the battery and will see how it runs this week.

Any idea who I could talk to about checking the stereo for a short or whatever? I dont think the dealer would take care of that for me...

I have an hour+ long commute to work everyday its gonna suck with no radio
