Don't go with any other motor company than Peak Performance.

Link: http://www.peakmotors.com/home.asp

Get a 17x3 turn Peak Stratos motor. It will make your Stampede go plenty fast. Believe me. Whatever you do, don't buy Trinity. They are crap. Every Trinity I have used broke in less than a year. Peak motors never fail.

Good luck.

I tend to disagree with his opinion. I have never had a problem with trinity motors, even though we have mistreated them. We have 2 14 turns in my dads clod that are still running strong after around 3 -4 years of use with no rebuild or cleaing or any of that regular maitence. I find that the Reedy Rage type R as i stated earlier is the best stock motor out there, and mod motor, i would have to go with trinity's new P-94. Both will be faster and more powerful than your 20 turn. But remember, a big part of performance is gearing, not just a motor.

With every Trinity motor I used the brushes chiped the comm was scratched and the motor slowed down after a couple of uses. I cleaned them, bought new brushes, rebuilt them, had the timing on 0 and I didn't abuse them either. I used them for on-road driving; I am not the kind of driver that hits curbs or objects either. Oh well, I just have never had luck with a Trinity. I only go with Peak.
