1997 S-10 front and rear axle housing - 75W90 synthetic gear oil or 85W120 mineral GL-5 gear oil.

A manual transmisison should use GM SynchroMesh Transmission oil, P/N 12345349, about 2.9 quarts total fill.

An automatic transmission should use Dexron III oil.

If it's a 4WD truck, the transfer case should use GM AutoTrak II synthetic oil, about 2 quarts total.
