Alternator bearings

I have a 95 Neon. I replaced the alternator 2 years age. The bearings have become noisy. Is it hard to change the bearings or is it better to just replace the alternator. A new one is $225.00 and I thought the bearings would be a lot cheaper,but if its not practical I wont do it.

Advance is selling alternators from $125 to $225.
