can an amplifier work without the box?

hey i just got this car and it came with an amplifier on the trunk but theres no box? should i turn it on or should i leave it alone??

sounds like you know very little about car stereo. If it is the stock Monsoon amp then it is on, if not then some more info will be needed. Wiring, kind, subs, or anything such as that...
Keep me updated and we should be able to figure it out.

yea i know but theres an amplifier drilled against the wall of my trunk and theres some switch on the bottom of my steering wheel, i was told it had somethin to do with it, oh and also the amp is off' should i turn it on?

If I were you I would be checkin to see where some of those wires are running. I wouldn't want to turn it on until I had some clue of what all was going on. If that switch on the bottom of your steering wheel is to control the amp then I doubt its the factory monsoon amp. Really would have to see it to know what is going on. Possibly might want to take it to a Best Buy or Circuit City to really find out if your uncomfortably with electronics or just wing it and click it on and watch out for flames....
