1985 S-10 blazer

Howdy- I have a question I hope someone can help with. I just bought a 1985 2.8 liter blazer, and it doesn't want to idle. I've changed the plugs, air filter, checked and rechecked the vacuum hoses, still no idle, hot or cold. It runs and starts smoothly, but refuses to idle. Any sugestions?? Thanks in advance!!!!!!

Stalls out

MY 1984 S15 with a 2.8L V6 has stalled ever since i have had it when i make left turns and sometimes run over tough terrain. I have also had four carbueraters. Thats right count 'em 4 in the past six years. I still haven't figured it out.

I think you might look at what they call the vaccum operated "idle solenoid". That may be your problem.

Thumbs down e2se carb

Guys..in all honesty, the e2se carb is garbage! It is one of the most difficult carbs to get right. Especially the choke system.
First make sure that your engine has no vacum leaks!
Check the idle load compinsator.
An old trick was to bump the timing up about 2 degrees and then enrichen the idle mixture screw. Adjust the idle screw to raise base idle about 50 to 100 RPM.

Or just go with fuel injection

Stalling

Mine did the same thing. Smog pros said it was the carb. I rebiult it with a new idal valve and didn't fix it. Turned out to be a weak fuel pump...

It would charge to full presure when the key was turned on and the presure would bleed off pretty quick. Swapped it out and runs great now.

Hope this helps,
