Re: weird switch??
Is it on the lower part of the dash, or is it on the panel that goes under the dash towards the pedals? And are there any markings on it? Is it a rocker type switch, or does it have a stem coming out of it?

Re: weird switch??
Could be a fog light switch, could be a starter disable switch, amp power switch, the list is almost endless. Try moving the switch with the car off, then start the car see if everything works normally. Just my thoughts on what to do.

Re: weird switch??
Yea the possibilities are endless on that, the previous owner SHOULD have told you about it but I guess people just aren't courteous enough these days to explain the uncommon things on the car they are selling.

i would guess amp switch or something of the sort. Most foglight switches are located left of the steering wheel on the dash unless the guy did some aftermarket work himself. You should be ok to test it out and see what happens. And besides, if the car doesnt work anymore, turn the switch back on lol.

Re: weird switch??
Does the car have an aftermarket alarm system installed? Some alarms come with valet switches that you flip to disable the alarm when you take it in for service so the shop is not setting the alarm off constantly. I have a similar setup. Usually the key needs to be turned partially forward, flip the switch, turn the key back. Alarm will no longer function. If there is a second switch, they are usually for active/passive mode, meaning you can set the alarm so it sets itself as soon as the car is exited, or you set it manually by remote.
