I'm new owner of 2002 Taurus SES. No climate control, When heat is on, air conditioning takes about 5 minutes to come on. Heat continues to blow through vents with all controls set to AC. When AC kicks in, I hear the blower door close (or open?). One time only, floored gas and AC kicked in immediately. When starting from AC, works fine ; when I switch to heat - fine, when going back to AC there's the delay. If I shut off engine, wait a minute and restart with AC its fine again. If you start with heat, its ok, but takes time to switch to AC. I can live with it, but is really annoying. ANy recommendations for Repair, replace or diagnosis. Thanks all

I bought a '02 SES "program car" when it was about a year old. It had been transported from another state and sitting for a few weeks here and there. The diverter door in the heat/A/C unit was sticking and doing similar things to what you are telling. I got away with simply "exercising" the heat/cool knob on the dash several times to get it working properly.

My car does not have EATC. FWIW its from midwest and has been in dry southern california for a few months.
