Fog light bulbs
Any suggestions for replacement fog light bulbs? I had silverstars, but one burned out today after less than a year of use, so I'm not sure I want to use them again.
Thanks!

Re: Fog light bulbs
Have you checked out the Silverstar "Ultras"?? I just saw them yesterday and they kinda sparked my interest. Can't really see a difference between them and the regular silverstars though.
As far as your silverstars burning out...I've had the same set of silverstars for 2 1/2 years now and they still burn as bright as the first day they were installed. Maybe you just got a bad bulb.

Re: Fog light bulbs
Honestly Blender, the stock fog light housings suck. GM Dropped the ball big time on these fog lights. However, if you don't want to throw a bunch of money at it I would just put another Silverstar in it. Maybe just check all the bolts on your housing. Maybe the housing is loose and shaking a little to much causing the bulb to burn out Prematurely.
I'm actually thinking about purchasing the PIAA valance kit with the PIAA lights in it. But, that won't be in the to near future....

Re: Fog light bulbs
I would go for the Silverstars again. I'm sure you just happened to get a bad batch. It's bound to happen. I installed mine in '04 and they were still going strong when I sold my truck a couple months ago.
Since I'm currently driving my moms Tahoe, I'm thinking about picking up a pair. B/c those stock bulbs couldn't light up a dark hallway.

Re: Fog light bulbs
Come to think of it, I did play with the housing a little when I was under there installing my new tow hooks... eBay special $5 AND the guy sent me the plugs for the tow hook holes for the 2003-2006
