I dunno what may have changed besides the body and dash, but unless they've redesigned the drivetrain and steering linkage, it will still be a double clunkerado.

Yeah, because they all clunk
|
|
I know myself and about 3 guys at work with 1999-2002 Silverados that do not clunk. mileage ranges from about 50k (mine) up to about 200,000
I know the 2007's are getting a pretty big boost in HP (about 50 across the board over the 2006, IIRC). The interior and exterior are all totally different.

Re: Silverado 2007
I saw a new Tahoe the other day with the new dash and was told it's the same as the 07 Silverado but the truck isn't out yet.

Re: Silverado 2007
The truck is not out yet. I test drove an 2007 Avalanche the other day, and there are some changes.
Electronicly controlled steering, so I guess no clunk
Fully boxed frame
Better gas mileage
Displacement on demand
More flex fuel models
More comfortable and better looking interior
Extremely smooth ride
Suposedly more power, I could not tell much difference compared to my silverado, but then again the avalanche weighs more
All and all I would say the Avalanche I drove was more comfortable and had a better interior than the 2005 Escalades. So if the new silverado is comparable, I would say they have defenantly made some improvements.

Oh, WTF? I thought GM knew better than that after the Saturn.
Great, I'll be real excited to get one of those...
Real handy if your battery's dead and you need a tow.

Re: Silverado 2007
Drive by wire.. yuck.. not sure I want the computer telling me how much it thinks I need to turn. isn't that on the LT3 only?
I do like the HP increase.. 6.0 with 367HP.. I can handle that.

Re: Silverado 2007
I went to the Quarter Horse Congress and they had a 07 GMC Denali and it had the new dash. I got to set in it and boy was it sweet...I liked it but I like the old dash too. I guess I just don't need all that fancy stuff.
