01 caravan and will be changing the fluid next weekend,and is the best time to change it when its sat overnite or when the fluid is hot/warm to get the best possible results.I'm going to do fluid and filter.any input is appreciated.

depends how cold it is outside, slightly warm is nice.
Get the right filter, there are 2 sizes depending on model year, don't forget the O ring on filter. Filter just presses on.
Easy job, a kid can do it.
