look on the engine case below the oil filler stand. Not the 1-4-3-2 #s,that is the firing rder.there is a number and letters. On the tranny,left hand side behind the axle is a flat area stamped with the transmission code. 1970 bug shoud be a dual port, 1600 w/ irs transaxle.
