Question replace with ARP products?

my shortblock (4 bolt) i noticed has main bearing cap bolts and rod bolts/nuts that are not arp. i looked on the manufacturer's website and it lists the tensile strength of the bolts they use as only 80,000, while arp is rated at over 170,000. im assuming that since i want about 450 horse from this motor that it would be in my best interests to replace at least the rod nuts with arp stuff, and likely the main bearing bolts as well...

if i do this, do i just use some vaseline and torque to factory specs or should i use some type of thread-locking material or a different lube that is closer to the specified torque?

Re: replace with ARP products?

In every race engine that we build in our shop we replace the stock bolts with arp. because it is just a extra peice of mind it sucks to pour money into a engine and then have it blow because a rod bolt failed
