For the entire track day album: http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?show_all=1&id=4291411329&start=1

He (very young driver) power oversteered out of a chikane(sp?), spun 180deg, hit the grass, and spun some more into the swamp/tall grass. Definatly some surface damage. You can see his skid marks in the pic under and to the left of the first one.

Damned rich kids in their GT3s...

Judging from your sig, I think you should be posting in the Initial D forum under Racing.

Petter Solberg could be described as 'young' but I'm thinking more pre 20.

a) That dosen't look like a racetrack (You said it 'was', just the pictures say otherwise)
b) NO race car I know today drives around without a single sponsor or marking.
c) Is that corn?

A GT3 deserves better than that :(

A GT3 deserves me :p

Never seen a highway that wide without markings on it. That looks like it was taken at Race City Speedway in Calgary. Been a couple of years since I raced there. I see grass and cat-tails. No corn.

It was probably a trackday, not an actual race

Looks like a rich kid in a GT3, or just a 996 with the Aero package, who tried to drift a corner and ended up in the reeds.

Those are bullreeds, btw, not corn :P

bingo!

there are no 1999 GT3s in canada and it is a trackday, not a race.

Well if a GT3 gets Recaro seats as std, then I think that isn't a GT3 in pic

This isn't North america. This is in Europe and the driver is a magazine writer! It's a story from the british Autocar mag about how reporters get to crash expensive cars without getting any punishment for it! There was another story of how another writer wet his pants while in the co-driver seat of an F50 which was literally cut in half thoughat this time it was the owner who was driving. In another instance two writers in a Bentley Turbo put the cruise-control on and moved in the back seat (!!!!! this is what they claim they did it's not my story) and let the car do its rounds on an oval circuit at a specific speed which kept the cra on course. Their calculations were correct and the banked road did the trick until for some reason the cruise control was set to OFF....... they don't say what happened next ........ and you thought these guys were serious professionals......

My mistake, I don't have that issue anymore and I thought it was Autocar. In any case it seems these guys will try all sorts of crazy stuff ,after all after a while they get bored just testing for 0-60..
