Looking

My wife is in love with the Avalanches and really wants one. She just found a '04 z71, loaded 47,000 miles, owned by an older couple that never pulled with it, most hwy miles. The dealership my wife works for did all of the service on it. She can pick it up for 18,500. What do you guys think about them. I have spent a lot of time around the silverado's but not the avalanches. Thanks in advance.

Re: Looking

That sounds like an awesome deal to me. I bought my 02 Z-71 earlier this year for $13,900 and I thought that was a good deal. Yours sounds even better.

Avalanches are great. 4 doors for easy access, truck bed is awesome, and if you ever need to haul anything 8' long (like drywall or paneling) which probably doesn't happen too often, but if you do, then you just drop the midgate and you are in business. Gas mileage is not great, so if that is a problem then you may want to check out the Honda Ridgeline, although it is not as versatile as the Avalanche. I get 15 MPG in mine, and I keep my foot out of the gas as much as possible. Overall a great vehicle. My Avalanche has the 3-piece removable hard bed covers, and I love them. I would highly reccommend getting these.

Re: Looking

Thanks for the input, but she bought it a couple of days after the post. She is also getting about 15mpg. Thinking about intake and nelsen tune to see if we can get the mileage up a little.
