Some might find this stuff interesting. Finished another system for my 1999 Kawasaki ZRX1100. This is probably the 5th system I've made for this bike....I like trying different things. This is the best one yet by far, IMO, and I really think I'm done. I found the best of all worlds, peak HP capability, best placement of components, best spool characteristics. I'm very very happy with it.

Its a T28 turbo off of a japanese spec skyline, roughly 280hp peak capability. I'm running 18psi on pump gas, and she hits full boost around 5K RPM's. I haven't dyno'd it of course, but I would expect around 250rwhp.

The intercooler is off of a VW passat 1.8L turbo engine, that I cut the tanks off and made my own. The header is 1.25" OD pipe.

Engine is stock other than forged 8:1 pistons (stock bore, 76mm x 58mm, 1052cc), stronger valve springs and a lockup clutch. Using stock 36mm carbs, and an aftermarket ignition system that allows me to retard timing on boost. Running around 28* total timing at peak boost (pulls timing at 10psi)

The rest of the bike is mostly stock, the swing arm has been extended 6". I'll try to get some full-bike shots soon. These pics were taken the night of the first test ride

haven't done an accurate weighing of the bike, but the entire turbo assembly (header, turbo, dump pipe, intercooler) is 25 pounds. The cold pipe, and air box weigh less than 2 pounds.

The rear exhaust is removable, but weighs about 18 pounds.

The bike stock, weighs about 550 pounds gassed up. Stock exhaust is quite heavy, so after its all said and done, I'm probably around 560 pounds with just the dump pipe. 580 or so with the full exhaust.

Not sure if you're refering to the metric ton....

The front tire does touch the ground now and then....and yes, I've been told I'm crazy a few times

ghost rider is quite famous, and his bike is way way sicker than mine. They aren't lieing in the video, it really is making 500hp to the rear wheel. His bike weighs less than mine too.

The hayabusa is a much better platform for turbo'ing, as far as the engine goes. There are many drag race bikes making over 600, even 700 hp and you'd be surprised how little modification has been done to the engine to acheive that. Thats out of a 1.3L engine.

But I'm not looking to break any records on the dyno sheet or 1/4 mile. Just wanted a fun, low profile bike. I can't even describe what its like to ride....it makes all naturally asperated bikes feel like mopeds.

Under statement?

560 pounds is about 254kg's.
That means your pushing around 1,000hp per Ton (metric ton).

Add the weight of a rider and it comes down a bit of course, more around the 800hp per ton mark, but its still very, very insane.

If I ever make it to the states Im going to have to find my way to your place.
I'll just look around for low flying motor bikes.

I'm a tall skinny guy, about 185 pounds fully geared up.

I loan my bike out to people all the time, its the best advertising I can think of, on convincing them they should pay me to turbo their bike. I have a dual stage boost controller on it, low setting is 7psi, high is 18psi. I set it on the low setting and then tell them if the low setting doesn't scare them, the high setting should

Just make sure you're going in a straight line when you give it full throttle.

Iv only ever ridden one bike, it was a 50cc Honda Cub copy.

I prefer to apply my power to the road with 2 wheels

However, I imagine sitting on the back of a 250hp bike would be a good rush.
