twin engined monster truckPsman32@af 09-01-2002, 10:51 PM i was wondering if anyone has ever seen one or built one here. its something im thinkingof doing later this year. A twin .21 truck with a 2 speed tranny, yes it will becompletely insane, and thats the point of doing it, lol. What does everyone think of this idea? yes or no sarujin 09-02-2002, 01:26 AM Well that sounds like a cool idea. I've seen plently of pics of twin motor electric ones, but i'm not sure if i've ever seen a twin .21 truck. A .21 is already rather large. Though how well would a 2speed stand up to offroad use? But if you've got the cash i'rd go for this idea, and make sure you keep us posted. sarujin Psman32@af 09-02-2002, 10:21 PM actually there are quite a few trucks out there, both .15 and .21 that have 2 speed trany's i have the time and ill spend a while designing the chasis in my free time. but, i havent decided how to go for the 2 speed yet. i could go both engines to 1 spur gear then a drive shaft to a 2 speed gear box and then have the driveshafts go through the chasis to gear boxes suspended below the chasis (aka t-maxx style) and have a servo to shift it when i want to. That would be much easier to set up the transmission, btu the suspension could pose a small problem. The ohter way is to have a self shifting 2 speed tranny like ofna offers for its truck and nitro touring cars have. it would be lighter and make the suspension easier to design, but it would be difficult to sncyronize the trannies. I like the later option, but my dad, the finacees, likes the first one for now, so we wil have dissusions about which is better, then decide. as for a twin .21 truck, ihave seen one in a mag and they got it to over 70 mph. NFS_SRT-10 10-17-2002, 01:50 AM here is a pic...i don't know what size the engines are cuz i found this pic on another forum and it didn't say Psman32@af 10-18-2002, 11:30 AM if i remeber right, that is a t-maxx with twin .15's, i would never consider doing a twin .15 because it owuld be a waste of time and money, a .21 has about the same power as two .15's. NFS_SRT-10 10-18-2002, 11:33 AM i was gonna say 21's because of the larger air filters but like i said i dunno so your prolly right i've seen both though (21 and 15) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
