When you turn on the ignition, watch the ABS warning lamp. It should turn on for about 3 seconds then turn off. If it flashes, count the number of flashes and monitor the pattern/frequency of flashes. On the older systems, the lamp should flash if a failure for a system sensor is detected. I'm fairly certain this applies to most GM 1994 models, but I wouldn't put money on it. It works on mine.
