a/c problem

on my 97 Z71 with a 350 my a/c works good but just dont blow that hard .....when i look at the panel it has low then two more positions then high well the one right before high doesnt work at all what causes this ?? is it as simple as a new blower motor ??

Well from your description, I'd say the blower is just fine since it's working on 3 out of 4 positions. So I'd say the switch itself is faulty or the resistor pack which is located on top of the heater plenum around the tranny hump...Steve

No. Here's how it works. The 1st 3 positions on the switch power the fan from the #12 25a fuse in the IP fuse block thru the resistor pack to the motor. In the high position the "blower high relay" is energized and the motor is now powered by the #3 50a fuse in the underhood fuse block. The resitor pack and high relay are on top of the plenum behind the glove box. I'm thinking the switch is goofy ...............Steve
