Montero Question

I bought a 2002 Montero, not a sport. I was wondering if there was any things to watch out for on these units. Like I said its not the sport its the full size montero, and its an xls not the limited, because I don't like the full time 4wd. One of my biggest concerns is the timing belts, or chains. Any recom. change interavels? Thanks.

Which engine came with that model?

I've got a 90 and am currently looking for a 95SR (3.5L DOHC) so I'm not too familiar with the Gen III's.

From everything I've learned over the past 12 years the answer is not in the US. No montero's were ever sold in the US with any kind of diesel engine.

If montero's were sold elsewhere, then perhaps.
