58 chevy Generator to Alternator Conv.

I just switch from a generator to an alt. on my chevy 235. I am attemtpting to rewire it and am having trouble. the Alternator is a GM 1 wire.

Any ideas on wiring?

Well it is a one wire alternator. I have 3 wires that went to my gneerator. and 3 to the voltage regulator. Black, brown and dark blue. just not sure what to do without, or what to hook up where.

Abandon the regulator. Remove all the unused wires back to a junction point, fuse panel, or device. The alternator is internally regulated, self-excited, and should present a negligible parasitic load on the electrical system when the engine is off.
