390's were made as dependable engine's they produce good horsepower and I do belive there is a good amount of aftermarket parts for them.

Re: 67' Ford Galaxie 500
The galaxie was a dependable car they created in both veiws it could be made into a nice cruise muscle car or a wife grocery getter in my veiw it's a good car,many people in the 60's and 70's used them as drag cars. The car will make a 14-15 second 1/4 mile pass.

Re: 67' Ford Galaxie 500
im going to tell you the description, I was hoping you could tell me what you think its worth. painted a few years ago, blue with a black vinyl top, 390 with aluminum edlebrock carb and intake manifold, dual exhaust. no rust except a little on the right real quarter, needs a new windsheild and could use some interior work, but nothing too major. thanks

Re: 67' Ford Galaxie 500
2 door or 4 door?
Per your description, 2 door approx. $ 2k to 4k
4 door, 1k to 3 k
These cars were notorious for rusty frames, due in part to the fact that Ford used a lot of recycled steel in the frames, but had not perfected the process to purge all the rust from the steel.
Many Fords (not unit body designs) would have a rust free body but the frames would rust away below them.
I suggest you go through the frame and look for rusty parts. Tap the frame through its entire length and look for soft/flexible areas and holes. If the frame is covered with a thick layer of undercoating, run away, its hiding expensive rust damage.

Re: 67' Ford Galaxie 500
its a 2 door. hes asking 3000, but hes pretty desperate to get it out of his garage, so I can probably talk him down a little. I'm a first time muscle car buyer but have looked at MANY cars so far. do you think this would be a good choice or should I wait for something else to come along?

My dad said you might have a good find there he said when he was alive it was a good car especially if it had a 390. He's 47 by the way.

Re: 67' Ford Galaxie 500
So i took a look at the car today, looks good has a good looking frame, the only rust on it is a little on the rear quarter, everywhere else is rust free, and no bondo. I was hoping that you guys could help me out with making sure that the engine is a 1967 390. the head casting numbers are C7AE-A, any help is appreciated.

The way Ford part numbers work is that the first digit is for the decade,
B= 1950-59
C= 1960-69
D= 1970-79, etc.
The second digit indicates year, so C7 = 1967.
However, often the same part made in later years retains the date code of its first year in production.
So, yes those heads are 1967 or later.

If your not handy with cars,
You sure shouldn;t but a classic car, Galaxie or otherwise
But a nice Cr. Vic if you want dependable
I drove a 64 Galaxie from Calgary to Toronto!
289-C-4 ran like a dream!
I don;t get it, not dependable, well, it ain;t going to drive like a, Taurus!
