is this part OEM

We have a corvette sitting here in the garage with a fan that doesnt work. One of my buddies traced the problem back to the part shown in the picture. Apparently the fuses are working fine and none of the wires connecting the fan to the electrical system are damaged in anyway. my guess is this part is some sort of temperature sensor but im probably wrong. we dont know if this part is OEM because of all the modifications that have been done to this car. the owner of the car doesnt know if they are OEM either. Does this part look familiar?

the part im talking about is the disconnected socket in the middle of the picture.
