Which year of Accord to get 97-02?ddivs 09-03-2006, 02:54 AM Which year is the year I should get when looking at an Accord with a VTEC, manual between the years of 97-02? Thanks ddivs 09-06-2006, 01:19 PM Nobody? 00accord44 09-06-2006, 03:24 PM Well 97 is 5th gen so it would be a different body style and a lil cheaper. But if you want VTEC 5th gen you'll have to get an EX which is a lil harder to find in manual transmission which drives the price back up. The 98 - 00 are all the ame design. I have a 2000 manual trans and I like the added power of the 6th gen, but not the added bulk. It drives heavier than my 94 (RIP :frown: ) I would go for a 98 or 99. Ive heard that there were some changes to the trans for the 00-02 and they're less reliable. My trans is clicking right now. I probably have about 35K left on it. I'm at 84K now. So a 98 or 99 LX is my reccomendation. You should be able to find one for $7500 or so. Good luck mang marc96accord 09-14-2006, 10:34 PM dont get a 96 ex ve had o2 and cat problems on mine and computer problems I have 125k and im ready to get rid of my shit the car looks good but i hate it AccordCodger 09-15-2006, 10:36 PM marc96accord, he didn't ask about 96's. marc96accord 09-16-2006, 08:15 PM well I told him him anyway 00accord44 09-16-2006, 08:17 PM marc96accord, he didn't ask about 96's. well I told him him anyway  AccordCodger 09-16-2006, 11:10 PM Great.
