i just finished fixing this thing up and now the emergency brake is stuck. i parked the car yesterday and put the emergency brake on ,i wasnt on a hill or anything and its not tht cold. for it to freeze or anything and its been working fine for months. so anyway i kept on pushing dowwn on the emergency brake but it wont come back up so i took a screw driver to the little gear thing there and and lifted the gear like thing that keeps the brake on and it swung back (smasing my hand by the way) but its still on, the car wont move i was wondering did i do something wrong or is there another way to do it or should i just cut the emergency brake and if so where and how?

Check the cables for corrosion, and the lever and spring on the back of the caliper. It sounds like something bound up in the rear under the car when you applied the parking brake.
