wow this forum has gornw since ive been here last, sorry i havent been around much. Ok for the stampede, it depends on what you want, do u want all out speed and low run times, or better speed and still maintain long runtimes? the thing id recomend for better speed and longer run times is a Reddy rage type R motor, IF you can find them. I have 4 or 5 of them and i absolutly love them, they are better then the MVp and other stock motors in my opinion, but a 18 tooth pinion on it but keep the stock spur gear, and it will be pretty fast, if you want more, put a 20 or 22 tooth pinion on it. If you want more speed but less run time, buy a speed gems 2, onyx, which is a machine wound 14 turn motor. both should run about 20-30 so they are still pretty cheap. another way to increase speed is instead of usinga 6 cell battery, use a 7 cell hump pack, aroudn teh same run time, maybe a little less, but more power going to the motor for more torque and rpm. For a different speed control, definatly get an electronic speed control. Go for one with reverse unless ur gonna use it for racing online which the stampede is not meant for (i know first hand, lol). make sure that it can handle whatever voltage u inteand on using, but id say dont go with more than a 7 cell battery, 8 cells are insane in a stampede (again i know first hand). Ive had great success with my tekin titan in my stampede, or you could also use a tekin rebel, i have those and love them, but they are very hard to find since that company is basically out of buisness, id say go for a novak rooster or super rooster if you plan on running relaly low wind motors. sorry for the long post but if you have any other questions, feel free to ask me.
