NewB clutch question

Hi ..I'm new. Just a clutch question...

After driving in traffic with AC on for about 1/2 hour, the shifting gets very difficult. Once I get moving it all seems to cool down and shift fine. It's a bit scary, sometimes feels like I can't get it into gear. Any help?

Thanks!

Re: NewB clutch question

I just had the same problem with my '94 Miata. Has the engine got hotter, the shifting became more difficult. It turns out that my clutch slave cylinder had a small leak, and as the fluid got warm, the leak became worse making stepping on the clutch less effective. I would suspect that you have a small leak in your master or slave clutch cylinder.

Re: NewB clutch question

look underneath the shift boot. if you're replacing the rubber boots, replace the oil in the turret as well. go to the garage section at miata.net, they have very detailed instructions there. check your engine mounts as well, this was part of my problem.
