RIP

Are you happy with the mileage you're getting with your 06 RAV 4 (either engine)? How is it comparing to the Govt ratings? The RAV is on my list of SUVs I'm concidering. This is the last bit of info I need before choosing. I'm sure we would all like to know.

We have had our 06 RAV-4 for about two weeks. We have the 4 cyl with 2 wheel drive. I just filled it up this morning. We live in a metropolitan city suburb. Drove 209 miles, about half of that is city driving with the A/C on. We got 24.9 MPG. With a rating of 24/30 I guess I was expecting about 26. The minivan we traded in with a V6 would have probably gotten about 23 for the same distance/driving pattern. I am going to check the mileage for the next few fillups to validate this.

Finally bought a RAV Sport 4 cyl week before last. Got 20.4 mpg on the first tank. Got 25.3 on the second and 24.7 on the third. That's at about a 60/40 highway/city split. This is the first time I've ever bought a car and the mileage was below the published rating from the get go. Anyone else had an 06 RAV longer and what mileage are you getting? Thanks redtrain65.

Our first 200 mile road trip... we got 30.2 MPG with the 4 cyl.

Just went on a 400 mile round trip. Got 30.6 mpg going there. Got 25.7 mpg on the way back with lots of stop and go traffic. (4 cyl)
