1997 C1500 Power Steering question

I recently changed the power steering pressure hose due to a leak

Since changing it the Power Steering pump has been whinning as if it was low on fluid, this did not occur even with the leaking hose.m (fluid is full)

I flushed the fluid per the installation instructions and refillesd with new

any ideas?

btw- there multiple choices for replacement hoses for this make/model truck
I went with "conventional" as the hose goes from pump to gear box
Anyone familiar with the hydrboost set up? and is it possible to have the wrong line installed?

thanks
