im getting 32 for an eror code nd in the chilton manual it says its an egr system fault can anyone explain that a lil more to me

What year is your car??? it's most likely you need a egr valve

althought replacing the EGR may be needed, cleaning it and replaceing the gasket will some times do the trick.
