Lighting Opinions Please

I was thinking about smoking the lenses on the side marker lights on my rear fenders, as well as the cab roof lights. What do you guys think? Cool? Lame? All opinions welcome. I'll probably Photoshop it before I finally decide.

Hmmm! In my humble opinion, it looked good back in the '90's, but seems kind of out of fashion now. Maybe on a black truck, but I have often thought that things like tailight covers, vent window louvers, window rain guards and the such, muddy up the factory look. Things that have really made my head turn have been cool paint colors, tasteful looking wheels, and clean, throaty exhaust sound to go with it. I am of the school, simpler is better. But, that's just me.

Re: Lighting Opinions Please

My either leave'em the way they are or. Remove them and body them over. I personally like a little lighting. I've got 3 LEDs on my running boards down each side of my truck and totally love the look at night...

Again just my !

Re: Lighting Opinions Please

chuck16 - I like a little lighting too. I'll definitely not body them over. I used to have little lights down my running boards on my old Ford. I agree, it looks cool.

masapell - I was kinda thinking the same thing about the dated look, but I wasn't sure, since the truck is dark grey, if it would look ok.

I actually did Photoshop it, and I think I'm going to leave them alone. It made it look a little odd with the tail lights not done, and I'm positive I don't want to smoke those.

Maybe I'll wire up the side markers to blink with the turn signals.... I gotta do SOMETHING to mod the lights!!! My wife says I'm obsessed with messing with my truck.

Thanks for replying guys.

Re: Lighting Opinions Please

I was actually thinking about wiring up my running board lights to blink with the corners or maybe even just one of them. I don't know though.

Thoughts on blinking running board lights????

What color are they? I actually did that with the front of the three on my Ford. Wired it to blink off when the corner came on. Looked cool with amber lights.

Re: Lighting Opinions Please

Nice!

I think it would look cool to at least make the front one blink. Do you get pulled over for those headlights? They rock.

Re: Lighting Opinions Please

Nope haven't been pulled over yet for the Headlights. I was really hesitant about drilling holes in my headlights for those LEDs but, it's such a cool look. Sportin83 on here sold them to me...Thanks for the comment.
Maybe I'll make them blink this weekend. We'll see...
