Smile Finally installed the cold air intake

on my 2000 5.3l. It is like most things after you do it you wonder what took you so long in the first place. Went with the AEM brute force and it does seem to give the truck some decent acceleration gains, I am happy (for now).

A few notes for those doing the AEM install. The hardest part for me was removing the mas wiring plug , everything else went prtetty much according to the directions. One other thing on the 90 bend from the engine intake make sure to put the short side toward the engine.

Now I guess its time for the Nelson tune.

Re: Finally installed the cold air intake

any reason you went with AEM instead of K&N?

Re: Finally installed the cold air intake

I looked at a lot of them for a long time and wanted to try something other than K&N. I used K&N on a 93 silvo and it worked well. The other reasons were the filtration claims and no oil needed.
