How educated are you?
I think the god thread has finally reached a near end so it's time for a new poll. How educated are you?

It is not really the college degrees it or a persons IQ.
That makes up how smart they are.
It goes back to old common horse sense pluse a little street wise sense.
I have saw a lot of college professors and some people with a real high IQ that could not pour piss out of a boot with the directions on the heal.
Not that a education does not help a person but unless they have some common horse sense there is a lot of things they will not be able to do.

Re: How educated are you?
Couldn't agree with you more. In my current position I have to deal with individuals who just make minimum wage all the way up to the very well off. And it seems the more "educated" you are, in most cases the more ignorant to day to day changes you are and have to have your hand held all the time.

Re: How educated are you?
In H.S., going to be a JR this year. I just want to get it over with, and start at some sort of automotive engineering/ mechanical college.

Re: How educated are you?
^^ thats what i wanted to do, but my parents talked me into drafting design. so once i get done with this ill probably move on to more computer oriented design.

Re: How educated are you?
^ Sweet man. So where do you think you might go? I want to eventually have my own car company, so i'll need to be able to design and build. There is a sweet college in Detroit for automotive design, and UTI, and community colleges are some i might go to so i can learn about engines/mechanics. (i know next to nothing about engines right now)

Re: How educated are you?
Well, whatever you do, do it while you're young and without repsonsiblity.
These days, you need to establish your direction in life careerwise, then meet your girl, spend a few years together putting your nest together, then have a family.

I was thinking about ITT. Are they pretty good for autoCAD? Im getting an AS in drafting right now, but I'd like to get away from the construction part and more towards the design of something in the auto industry.

when i went there we had a semester of board drafting...but they since got rid of it and just went straight to autocad...they taught a wide variety of engineering fields so that you were well rounded when you started working...the best thing is if you've already graduated and they start teaching a newer version, you can go back and sit in on the classes, but the best thing is that you can use the computers, plotters any time and career room if you're looking for another job...actually they'll look for you if you want...i started working before i graduated at an engineering firm...the company i work for now, of the top 300 AEC (architectural, engineering, construction) firms in the US, we're #7...down from #5 last year...ITT is a great choice...but none of the credits transfer (found that out when applying at ODU and ITT has since started putting in their commercials...after i graduated ) and if you want a BS you'll have to get it there...before choosing...look at local community colleges since they are now starting to offer cad classes and their credits will more likely transfer to accredited colleges...but will it offer the same after graduation benefits like ITT

Never heard that one... Beauty.
Agree... Most lawyers I've dealt with are dumber than their clients. AND they all have at least 2 designations around here. So, as far as I am concerned, the whole "I'm educated / smart because of the number of degrees or designations I have" standpoint (or certificates, or whatever) ain't worth a squirt of piss.
