The SHO is badass, but people just don't really know about it, the new ones are a POS, I beat one in the max, and its a v8, Like you said though, the 90 to 95 with the YAMAHA is sweet!!!!

definitely, my friend has a 5 speed 95 SHO. i beat him but it's definitely quick. his is the 3.2 high output 6 cylinder. i don't think they make 8 cyliner ones. unless the new ones are 8's. after they chaged the body style of the taurus i lost all interest. the SHO was the ultimate sleeper

You can tell them apart from the rest because the 2 exaust pipes are the signature as well as it saying v8 on the side
look out for them???? Ha, good luck!!!!

89 SHOs are the fastest because they are the lightest. 89-95 All had the Yamaha V6 220hp 200ft-lbs. 89-92 were all 3.0liter MTXs. 93-95 Automatics became more available with 3.2liter 220hp and 215ft-lbs. The ATX's are slower than the MTX 5 speeds. 96-99 (Gen III oval) came with a 3.4 V8 and only an ATX. The V8 SHO are much heavier than the V6 SHOs.

Yes, Yamaha designed the 3 liter motor to push 300hp. Ford gave it a really crappy exhaust, lower cam profiles, installed horns in the runners, and retarded the timing. There are people with 300hp NA SHO motors. I am trying to find a very low milage 3.2(found in Auto's) to swap in. The motor was severly overbuilt, in fact, there is a guy in my club with a blower on his pushing 445.3 hp to the wheels(530 hp crank) on stock internals.

Those SHO's are real sleepers, but the value on them is Shit. I saw two of them on sale next to a train track. one of them had 17's on them but I'm cool.
