Will these fit?

currently have bfg m/t 265/75/16 tires on 16x8 rims... i've trimmed the air damn and they still rub when turning. they didnt rub on the factory rims. i was thinking of keeping these tires for winter and next year getting a set of bfg a/t's for summer..... im trying to figure out if i went with 255/70/16's if those would rub.. thats the original tire size that would have came with the truck.

They should work. I don't see why not.

Re: Will these fit?

If the wheels in the picture are the ones you are refering to as 8" . How did you get them . I have been wheel shopping recently and have been told all the GM factory alloy wheels are 7" width . I just bought some aftermarket 8" for my winter tires ( 285x75x16) . not mounted yet . Rob

Re: Will these fit?

sorry thats an older pic...the wheels i have now are mickey thomspon classic II's...16x8. tires rub at full turning with those but not the factory ones. i trimmed a bit of the air dam but still rubbing. looks like its rubbing from the tread being so thick.

Re: Will these fit?

Now I understand . When you bought the wheels . Did anyone at the tire store mention the offset ? It determines how far out the tire/wheel extends out from the axle. Factory offset is 29mm on alloy wheels . My replacement set are the same offset so I can hopefully prevent rubbing . The tire stores in my area are used to us rednecks messing up(customizing) our 4x4s . The lower that value is , the further out of the truck the wheels are . It adds the radius of the turn . Go to "discounttire.com" for a better explanation. Rob

Re: Will these fit?

no one mentioned the offest, but on the computer the ones i got were supposed to be the correct fit for my year and make of vehicle. the rubbing is very slight....im not sure if there would be rubbing if the tread pattern wasnt so aggressive.

Re: Will these fit?

And I like that agressive design . I bet if they did not have that thick tread at the edge , it would not touch . Is it rubbing on the the outside of the tire when it is turned inward or the inside of the tire ?
I have the same size going on mine in a few weeks when I finish paying for the wheels . I found a set of Pro Comp X-terain tires for my hunting season set up .
Have you adjusted the torsion bar keys yet . I just bought mine a few weeks ago and discovered that the front end was lower than spec . I raised it 3 inches just with the bar adjustment . Rob

Re: Will these fit?

Also the wheels I am buying had two different offset for GM bolt patterns . I saw a picture of the MT classics in a magazine today . Summit list them in 2 offsets too . Rob

Re: Will these fit?

the rubbing is on the back part of the wheel well scrubbing against that when turning when moving forward. if you crank it hard when backing up sometimes the tread will catch on the air dam too. no torson bars...2wd

Re: Will these fit?

2 WD . Now I understand . The whole truck is designed for a smaller tire. Does that mean you have coil springs? I have not looked under a 2 wd in many years . A saw might be your only option to keep the tires . Good luck , Rob

Re: Will these fit?

yes have coil springs...
on the inside of my door specifies tire size as 255/75/16, i have 265s.... 255 on these rims with a slighty agressive tire should fit shouldnt it?

Re: Will these fit?

Yes , it should . Have you had the front alignment checked . Since the castor adjustment can change how far front or back the tire is in the fender well . This is puzzling . Rob
