Removing a Section of Window Tint

I failed inspection due to window tint on the front two windows and on the glass in front of the third (high-mount) brakelight. All the websites offering instructions on removing window tint talk about peeling/scraping away the tint pane, which would make sense for the front two windows. But for the back I only need to remove a small section of the tint. Is this feasible, and if so, how would I go about doing it? Particularly as the car has rear defrost, such that the use of razor blades and scrapers in that area is not recommended.

Any suggestions?
