I'm here.
I'm in the slow process of upgrading my 97 Legacy GT 4-door. It's black, has Toyo Proxies TI's on it, and I'm moving on to a stiffer rear sway bar, as well as improving the front end lighting and cosmetics.
Suspension work will probably be next.
What are you into with Legacy?

Amount of boost
How much boost does the U.S. version run? Just curious since it doesn't come with a factory intercooler...

How much boost do you think you could run on a stock engine? My friend has a 93 turbo, and I want him to get a boost controller. Or would he have to upgrade fuel rails/pump too? I just want to get some info on this car.

A "rule of thumb"
I am not totally sure about the exact differences between the US and non US spec Legacy turbo cars, so please take the following with a grain of salt
A "rule of thumb" would be to increase amount of boost by about 20% maximum. Most factory ECUs can correctly accomodate this amount of deviation from "standard" operating conditions.
After that, you may want to seek expert advice on finding what exactly the bottleneck(s) are...

yeah, i'd be very hesitant to go anywhere above 10 psi unintercooled. but, it is a very strong engine. i've had mine up to 14psi a few times without incident but now it stays at 10 til i get an intercooler.

Hi everyone, well it's my first time here and you guys look
like a bunch of fun people!!! Pleased to meet ya all!
Has for me, on my rally car (1991 Legacy turbo ej22t), I'm running about
11psi of boost. Over that the ecu give's me an check engine light and
anyway, without intercooler there wont be any engine left after the
race!!!
I'm planing to convert in to a RS version to run in group N here in canada. Soon, I'll be firing up a nice little EJ20t from a Legacy RS jmd.
