License plate light, after market that lights up all around plate.

Hi, I bought A fluoresent license plate light & hooked it in to the parking lights. when I turned on the lights the heater control started flashing when I on hooked it the heater control stoped flashing. Different people tell me that you can't hook them up to this car (1998 grand prix GTP) it will burn out the heater computer. Is that right or is their some way different to do it. Thanks

i dont know what state you in, but around my town you get a ticket for those flouresent things, i,m not too familiar with the wiring on the 98, but i dont know how connecting these lights to the parking light would have any affect on the heater computer thats a completely different system and wiring. just my

maybe the charging system cant handle the extra current draw?

Actually, well i think around here anyway that you would only get a ticket if the neon is red or blue because those are like police colors.

im sure it varies from city to city and state to state, i used to have purple ones underneath my car and drive pass quite a few cops and they diddnt do anything, i also see quite a few other people with neons on their cars/motorcycles too.
